Dr. Drake attended Idaho State University to attain her bachelor’s degree, and subsequently attended Oregon Health and Science University, School of Dentistry, continuing into their advanced specialty training in Periodontology and Dental Implants. She completed a three year residency and earned a Certificate of Advanced Education in Periodontics and Implantology, and a Master of Science in Periodontology. Dr. Drake is a Diplomate, and is board certified in Periodontology, a recognized specialty of the American Dental Association. She is also and active member of Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, and other professional organizations

Dr. Drake is a truly skilled and educated practitioner who cares wholeheartedly for her patients and their outcomes. I know very few providers who invest the time, energy, and care that she puts into her patient care. I strongly recommend Dr. Drake as a treatment provider for anyone who is in need of a periodontist.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Sunny Drake when she was a third year periodontic resident and I a third year dental student at Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry. Aside from her being one of my mentors in the dental clinic, Dr. Drake was also the surgeon who placed implants in one of my patients. Dr. Drake is a highly talented and skilled clinician, both in her skill as a surgeon and her doctor-patient interaction. She is extremely knowledgeable in both her specialty of periodontology as well as the other disciplines within dentistry. She is able to perform surgery with great finesse, unlike most other surgeons I have had the opportunity to work with. Dr. Drake also treats her patients with great compassion and respect. She educates the patient on what she is planning to do and why, and has a great ability to comfort a nervous or anxious patient, a skill that only comes with a doctor who truly cares about the patient and their well being. I highly recommend Dr. Drake and would confidently refer my patients and family to her for their needs within her specialty of periodontics.
