Dr. Doherty is originally from New York State. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude with a double major in biology and religious studies. She attended dental school at the University of Connecticut, where she also completed a PhD in biomedical science in the area of skeletal biology and regeneration.Dr. Doherty loves to connect with and treat patients, and especially enjoys being able to effectively relieve dental pain. She has participated in volunteer dental service through the Mission of Mercy in both New York and Connecticut, and has traveled as far as South Dakota to provide free dental care on the Lakota reservation. She was recently awarded the 2024 Rising Star Dentist Award from the Connecticut State Dental Association.
