Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Vancouver. He graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1974 with B.Sc. and D.M.D. degrees. He is one of first dentists in the province to have graduated from the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute (1991). Dr. Anderson has been placing implants since 1988. He was the co-founder of the first surgically dedicated implant study club in North America (1992). He is the past president of the Oral Implantology Surgical Seminars. He earned Fellowships with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (1993), the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Anderson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology.
