Dr. Frank Avason III graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy before attending University of Kentucky College of Dentistry where he graduated 8th in his class. After graduation, he completed a three year periodontal residency at UK obtaining a Master of Science degree. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, the North Carolina Dental Society as well as several other local and state dental societies. In addition to being a licensed periodontist and dentist, he also continues to keep an active pharmacy license to stay abreast of the ever-changing advances in healthcare.

Dr. Frank has a number of outstanding skills which make him a resource for patients and other dental professionals. His training goes beyond the normal/average General Dentist. Residency training in the specialty of Periodontics allows him to treat a variety of conditions that another less skilled GP would normally refer to a specialist. His surgical training and his ability to teach it to others, which is an extremely uncommon characteristic, is a valuable asset to the Dental community and his patients. We are fortunate to have him practicing in this area of North Carolina
