Dr. Cruz completed her dental education at the University of Iowa and received a postgraduate degree in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to and during her Dental education, Dr. Cruz-Orcutt performed scientific research and has published several articles.

Dr. Cruz-Orcutt is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Shenandoah Valley Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
