Dr. Randall Fitch became a Board Certified Member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1995. He went on to a successful career in academia in small animal veterinary orthopedics as an assistant professor at Louisiana State University and Colorado State University, where he led surgery programs including training of eight residents and graduate students. During this time, he was responsible for more than 35 publications, lead multiple research projects; including funding of eight research grants, multiple publications and research awards, and is the author of numerous scientific articles. Following 13 years of work in teaching hospitals, he joined a large multi-specialty referral hospital in Loveland, Colorado where he developed a thriving and highly-sought after surgery and sports medicine service. There, he had the great honor of helping many top ranked canine athletes. He further developed and perfected diagnostic and treatment techniques related to conditions of the canine stifle, shoulder, elbow, as well as conditions of the spine that affect mobility including lumbosacral disease and disk degeneration. His team also integrated cutting edge surgical procedures with physiotherapy, including new approaches to fracture repair and treatment of joint and tendon conditions. Nationally recognized as a leader in advancing the understanding and treatment of orthopedic and sports medicine conditions, Dr. Fitch is the current president of the American Canine Sports Medicine Association and serves as Chairman to multiple national surgery committees.
