Dr. Grandhe was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to the Central Valley in Bakersfield, California at the age of 4 where his family has settled down. Dr. Grandhe graduated from medical school with honors at Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai, India before returning home to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA-Kern Medical. Dr. Grandhe subsequently completed a fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Grandhe comes back home to the Central Valley from Harvard University committed to serving our community with his passion for providing culturally sensitive and compassionate care for medically disadvantaged and underserved populations. Research interests include pain management and Dr. Grandhe is currently engaged in projects utilizing virtual reality as a therapeutic non-opioid intervention for refractory symptom management in patients with advanced illness. His academic interest focuses on the intersection of palliative care with hematology and oncology. Dr. Grandhe has attended national meeting presentations with published abstracts. He has authored numerous scientific papers, book chapters and several photographic fillers in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
